Sounds like a win-win situation - perhaps the shark just wanted to go surfing?
Seriously, we recognize the tragedy of shark/human accidents and our deepest sympathies go out to the families of shark attack victims. However, sharks attack folks who are swimming because they appear to be something non-human and tasty. It's nothing personal and, hey, that is the shark's turf, so to speak. Sharks live in the water. Humans live on land. Humans in the water have to accept the possible risk of being mistaken for a seal or a turtle. If sharks were to go hang out on the land they would face similar risks.
More sharks are attacked and eaten by humans in one year than humans have ever in all time been attacked and eaten by sharks.
